Development struggle of the African countries

The principal duty of every government is to provide conditions for human rights and security, promotion of equality and social justice, decent standard of living and enhancement of the capacities of development. However, a large part of the world population lives in extreme poverty, while most of them are from the African continent. Despite the improvement in singular ones, most of the Sub-Saharan African countries remain on the bottom of the economic ladder, consequently millions of Africans are still deprived of their basic needs like food, health, education, housing, access to clean water and sanitation and for decades this matter remains fundamental, without any substantial change.
Difficulties the countries have to face are based on issues of domestic level and the features of interaction of the international community (Certain effects of international interaction in Africa, like aid, seem to bring more damage to the continent than benefits). Economic growth problems caused domestically lie on the cultural and linguistic diversity inside the continent, the lack of access to affordable credit, infrastructure and skilled labor. Corruption – the most neglected human rights violation of our time is also one of the main concerns of the African continent. It provokes inequality and is a catalyst for migration and terrorism. The effects of corruption on Africa and other countries worldwide are destructive against national development. While corrupt individuals with political power continue to spend the money that should be spent on enforcement of infrastructure and healthcare, leaving no possibility of capital accumulation, they discourage donors and destroy investor confidence, strangling development, progress and prosperity. Considering the domestic problems it remains difficult to adjust to the world financial market, that requires a strong political will and innovation in order to increase domestic savings.
African countries should focus on implementing liberal democracy and transparency to strengthen the rule of law and use wisely the revenue from the natural resources. Importance of engaging the prosperity of education and inform youth about what ethical behavior is, what corruption is and how to fight it and to demand their right to education. Ensuring that future generations of responsible citizens are brought up to have decent conditions to acquire skills and use them to generate income is one of the best tools to ensure a brighter future. The struggle of Africa has been devastating and a huge defeat for every country of the world, but we need to hope and believe that with joint forces African countries will become prosperous members of the global system.
